i only have two but they seem to be the original '69 and i just have no idea how to work them.

i have to cut stripped screws and remove pieces of floor, so i am in for it, but it would be nothing so long as i can take a bath in a great big 3/4 tub!

Anyone know how these things work, i am pretty quick but these have me licked.

Either that or contact the factory (Airstream and/or water heater maker) and ask them.

Airstream send you to the internet for info and instructions as they do not support these older models.

So does anyone know how to work an airstream hot water heater, because i am sure i do not have the last one remaining.

OK, Anami, do you have a door on the outside to the heater? If you do, there should be a spot there for lighting the pilot.

There may be a valve on the underside of the trailer to let the propane flow to the water heater--check underneath for that. Also make sure the trailer is level, and give it a good five minutes before you try to light anything.

If that doesn't get you anywhere, try to take some pictures, and I'll run it by a few old time experts I know and see if they've got some suggestions.

Also, what length trailer and model is it? This may help.

            You are my hero!

Bot i have good luck meeting lovely people named Warren, lately ;-)

i am not home now but when i get there i will check, they do have doors on the front, at least i know the one in the kitchen does. i'll shimmy unter and look where my propane lines are. i know they are good because my stove and oven works well with no exessive smell or anything, so there may not be valves. For the stove i just turn it on at the tank. If i can't get it, i have a new phone that takes pics and i should be able to get some online pretty quick.

Thank you so much for your willingness to help i have always loved airstreams and am now taking on the beautifying of this one alone, so i very much appriciate any help on figuring out how the systems work, i am pretty quick, but not as quick as i though iguess ;-)

My Dorothy is a 23' (i think) 1969 Land Yacht.

Boy i am eager to get that big beautiful 3/4 size tub shower up and running!

Thanks luv, i will check it out tonight.

There is probably a valve between the stove/refrigerator and the hot water heater. Ours has it. Check and look.

You should be able to get to the water heater from outside. If you can't find it, let me know, and I'll ask my friends and see who's got one.

Glad to be of help! If we can't get it to work on gas, there are some other options you can use while keeping the tank--there are these things called "hot rods" you can put in that run off electricity.

Now why on earth would you just chuck out something that likely works because you do not know how to work it.

i think i have seen why human waste themselves from a functional planet.
